It's way too late to embroil myself now in another day in Paris, but because I keep falling further behind, I don't want you to lose track. So here are some of the accounts to come:
Two days in the Dordogne Valley and Sarlat-le-Caneda

Canoeing the Dordogne River

Sarlat, a most amazingly intact medieval city

In a privately owned cave in Dordogne Valley, on a private tour...

...led by our personal guide David, who also took us to the Chateau de Beynac, built from the 12th-15th centuries, and one of about 1500 castles in that area.
One and a half days in Girona , Spain
(and Figueres)

A star attraction at the Teatre-Museu Gala Salvador Dalí in Figueres

The view from our Airbnb deck looking at yet another medieval city. We would have loved to stay here longer.
Every well planned trip needs a grand fail, and ours was Les Baux-de-Provence

But I did get one pic of the town from afar, before we aborted our time there and escaped to Arles, a really wonderful city where we again encountered Roman remains that have been restored and are used today for major events.

But there's way more to Arles, set beside the Rhone River, and we had a chance to experience some of it.
Monaco - Monte Carlo
Where the really, really rich come to play and stay for six months of the year, and the rest of us poor schlubs hang out on the edges.

The general public is allowed to come into the Casino in the morning to get a taste of the grandeur. For a price, of course...
Milano, our first Italian stop
In two nights and one day, we've:
*Seen the newest Cirque du Soleil show, "Kurios: Cabinet of Curiosities"

*Visited the Duomo (naturally!), inside and up top:

*Attended an opera, Rusalka by Dvorak, at La Scala

So all of those reports will be coming, even as we continue to go forward to other adventures we have planned.
The thrills go on and on! It's hard to believe a month has passed since we began this.

I am so impressed with all that you are fitting into this trip. I think that your new careers should be Travel Planners Extraordinaires! It would only be accommodating travelers who could keep up with the pace. I’m happy to be going along with you from the comfort of my love seat at home.
Just to let you know how very much I am loving following you both around Europe. Thank you for this great blog of your fantastic journey.
